Ansonia holds Winter Awards Recognition

The Ansonia athletic department recognized their winter sports athletes this week for boys and girls bowling and boys and girls basketball.  The Tigers receiving special league recognition for basketball were:  Hunter Muir (1st team CCC), Devyn Sink (2nd team CCC), and Aydan Sanders (Special Mention CCC), Trinity Henderson (2nd team CCC), Jailyn Thwaits (Special mention CCC).  Receiving academic all conference honors (3.5 GPA and a letter winner) were Hunter Buckingham, Matthew Farrier, Trinity Henderson, Bailey Stammen, and Stefani Garrett.  For boys basketball Hunter Muir was named team MVP, Aydan Sanders was defensive player of the year, and Hunter Buckingham was most improved.  For the girls Trinity Henderson (top scorer), Jailyn Thwaits (top rebounder), Katie Werts (Top defender and most assists) and the Tiger Coaches award went to Bailey Stammen.  For boys bowling Charles Murphy was named MVP, Jacob Vietor named most improved, and Jedd Rismiller was awarded the Tiger award.  For girls bowling Madison Stover was named MVP, Sarah Rhoades named most improved, and Lexi Shinn earned the Tiger award.  For the Tiger Cheer squad Christina Sullivan and Katy Bolen were named squad co-MVP’s
